Sun Siyam Iru Veli Hosts Chef Jan Punčochář for Exclusive Culinary Experience

Sun Siyam Iru Veli recently hosted acclaimed Czech chef Jan Punčochář for an exclusive culinary residency held from July 25 to August 1, 2026. Organised in partnership with Colours of Maldives, the residency brought Chef Jan’s culinary expertise to Roma, the resort’s signature overwater restaurant. The highlight was a Chef’s Table on July 31, featuring a multi-course menu that blended Czech culinary traditions with Maldivian ingredients and island-inspired flavours, accompanied by selected wine pairings. A cocktail evening on July 28 allowed guests to meet the chef. During the residency, Chef Jan also worked with the resort’s culinary team, sharing techniques and ideas. Known for his Prague restaurants and television appearances on MasterChef Česko and Hell’s Kitchen Česko, he added an international dimension to the resort’s culinary programme.
