ITC Hotels has strengthened its presence in India’s growing leisure and island tourism market with the signing of a management agreement for Storii Havelock, a 22-key boutique retreat in Swaraj Dweep, popularly known as Havelock Island, in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The upcoming property will operate under the Storii by ITC Hotels brand and is being planned as an intimate retreat that blends the natural character of the island with a relaxed hospitality experience. Surrounded by beaches, clear waters, tropical landscapes and rich marine biodiversity, Havelock has emerged as a popular destination for travellers seeking nature, adventure and leisure experiences.
Storii Havelock is expected to feature well-designed rooms and suites along with a range of facilities aimed at both leisure travellers and families. The property will include an all-day dining restaurant, bar, swimming pool, fitness centre, spa and children’s play area, providing guests with a mix of recreation, relaxation and dining options within the resort.
The signing also marks the entry of the Storii brand into the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, expanding ITC Hotels’ presence into another high-potential leisure destination. The company said the move is part of its broader strategy to grow its portfolio in emerging leisure markets while creating properties that are closely connected to their surroundings.
According to Anil Chadha, Managing Director, ITC Hotels Limited, Havelock Island has become one of India’s sought-after leisure destinations because of its natural beauty and distinctive experiences. He noted that the addition of Storii Havelock reflects the company’s approach of expanding into promising leisure markets through properties rooted in their local environment.
The project is being developed in collaboration with M/s Waterwoods Lodge and Resorts Private Limited. Arjun Kapoor, Director of the company, said the partnership with ITC Hotels aims to create a hospitality offering that reflects the character of the Andaman Islands while catering to travellers looking for a combination of nature, adventure and relaxation.
The addition of Storii Havelock further strengthens ITC Hotels’ growing leisure portfolio and highlights the increasing focus of the hospitality sector on destinations beyond India’s traditional tourism centres. With its island setting and boutique format, the upcoming retreat is expected to add a new accommodation option for visitors exploring the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The development comes as ITC Hotels continues to expand its network across different destinations and hospitality segments. The company currently operates a portfolio of more than 155 hotels with over 14,200 keys across 95+ destinations, with brands spanning luxury, premium, boutique, upper-upscale, mid-market and heritage leisure segments.
With Storii Havelock, the company is set to bring its boutique hospitality offering to one of the country’s prominent island destinations, combining the brand’s focus on distinctive stays with the natural character of Havelock Island.
