BeKind Hotels & Resorts is introducing a distinctive way to celebrate Diwali this year, bringing Indian festive traditions to the natural surroundings of the Maldives. The group is offering specially curated experiences across its properties, Meyyafushi Maldives and Fushifaru Maldives, including the opportunity to celebrate on a private sandbank.

At Meyyafushi Maldives, guests can reserve a secluded sandbank exclusively for their family and friends. Accessible by boat and surrounded by clear Indian Ocean waters, the setting offers an intimate alternative to traditional Diwali celebrations. The experience can include Indian festive delicacies, allowing guests to enjoy familiar flavours while surrounded by the Maldivian landscape.

The celebrations also extend to the resort, where guests can begin Diwali morning with a special breakfast at Bubble, offered at a preferential price and accompanied by lagoon views. In the evening, a Diwali-special thali dinner will be served by the shore at an additional charge, combining traditional Indian cuisine with a relaxed beachfront setting.

At Fushifaru Maldives, located in the Lhaviyani Atoll, Diwali takes a more relaxed island approach. Guests can spend the day exploring the lagoon, enjoying wellness experiences and spending time together before ending the celebration with an intimate dinner under the night sky.

Ahmed Siaar, Cluster General Manager, BeKind Hotels & Resorts, said that Diwali is about light, togetherness and new beginnings. He added that celebrating these values amid the natural beauty of the Maldives allows guests to create personal and meaningful memories with their loved ones.

The two resorts offer different interpretations of a Maldivian Diwali. While Meyyafushi focuses on the exclusivity of a private sandbank celebration, Fushifaru combines the festival with a slower island experience. Together, the offerings bring Indian festive traditions into a setting shaped by beaches, lagoons, ocean views and starlit skies.
