Indian Wildlife Network Brings Conservation Voices Together at Mumbai Meet

Despite heavy rain, the Indian Wildlife Network’s Mumbai Meet in Andheri West brought together journalists, students, wildlife enthusiasts and conservationists from Mumbai, Nashik and Ahmedabad. The event opened with Mohit Aggarwal outlining IWN’s vision, with Gurpal Singh supporting the event’s coordination. Paramvir Singh highlighted the role of bees, sunbirds and bats in pollination and biodiversity, while Jehu Nadar discussed the importance of waters, fishes and seas. Rohidas Dagale spoke about the role of Indigenous and local communities in conservation and the interconnectedness of forest species. Kenneth Lawrence discussed conservation filmmaking, while Vidyasagar Hariharan highlighted Mumbai’s flamingos and mangroves. Sneha Singh spoke about oceanography. The meet concluded with plans to expand IWN across India and engage more students and communities, alongside the launch of Earth Walks Bombay.
