Bahrain Strengthens India Tourism Strategy with Intrepid Marketing & Communications

The Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has appointed Intrepid Marketing & Communications as its official trade representation and sales agency in India, in a move aimed at strengthening the Kingdom’s presence in one of its key international source markets.
Under the new mandate, Intrepid Marketing will lead Bahrain’s market development, travel trade engagement and strategic partnerships across India. The agency will work closely with travel agents, tour operators, corporate organisations, wedding planners and event professionals to increase awareness of Bahrain and encourage more Indian visitors.
The partnership will particularly focus on leisure tourism, MICE, destination weddings and bespoke group travel, segments that are gaining importance within India’s outbound tourism market.
India Remains a Key Market for Bahrain
BTEA views India as a high-potential source market, supported by increasing outbound travel, improving air connectivity and growing interest among Indian travellers in short-haul international destinations. The Kingdom is looking to tap into the rising demand for experiential and premium holidays, as well as business events and destination celebrations.
Commenting on the appointment, Dana Osama AlSaad, Deputy CEO for Projects and Resources, Bahrain Tourism & Exhibitions Authority, said India remains an important market for Bahrain and highlighted Intrepid Marketing’s understanding of the Indian travel landscape and its strong industry relationships.
Focus on Trade and Partnerships
Intrepid Marketing & Communications will undertake market outreach and build stronger relationships with key stakeholders across India. Its engagement will extend to the travel trade, corporate sector, wedding planners and event organisers, with the objective of creating new opportunities for Bahrain across multiple tourism segments.
Sunil Mathapati, Director, Intrepid Marketing & Communications, said the renewed partnership builds on the agency’s previous association with BTEA and its understanding of the destination. He noted that the collaboration will focus on expanding opportunities across leisure, MICE and destination weddings.
Bahrain Targets Experience-Led Indian Travellers
With its heritage, culinary offerings, luxury hospitality and modern event infrastructure, Bahrain is seeking to position itself as a destination for Indian travellers looking for experiences beyond conventional sightseeing.
The destination is also looking to attract incentive groups, international conferences and wedding celebrations, alongside leisure travellers seeking premium short-haul holidays.
The appointment of Intrepid Marketing & Communications marks a renewed push by Bahrain to deepen its engagement with the Indian travel market and strengthen trade partnerships across the country.
