Sri Lanka Tourism intensified its promotional strategies towards Indian travellers by
highlighting the country’s diverse tourism offerings to key markets in India by hosting a
series of roadshows (B2B) and networking evenings in Madurai, Coimbatore & Chennai
on the 06th, 08th and 10th October 2025 respectively. The event attracted over 400
Travel Agents and Tour Operators from these markets with over 39 stakeholders from

contributing to 22% of total tourist arrivals. From January to September 2025, Sri
Lanka welcomed 1,725,494 tourists, of which 375,292 were from India. This upward

Lanka’s tourism earnings have already crossed USD 2.3 billion by August 2025.
In all three cities, a media gathering was organized with leading Indian outlets, aiming
to generate widespread awareness and positive coverage for Sri Lanka as a premier

Lankan cultural dance troupe performed throughout the events, showcasing the

Assam Leads the Way with Inclusive Tourism Initiative
Guwahati will host a landmark five-day Indian Sign Language (ISL) Workshop, ‘Sign & Serve’, from 8–12 September 2025. Organised by the Tour Operators Association of Assam (TOAA) in collaboration with Shishu Sarothi and supported by NEDFi, the programme is the first of its kind in the region for tourism and hospitality professionals.
