Ensana Enters Georgia with New Wellness Hotel in Sairme

Ensana Hotels has strengthened its presence in Europe’s wellness tourism sector by opening its first property in Georgia. The newly launched Ensana Sairme South, a 4-star hotel with 154 rooms, is located in the mountain spa town of Sairme, more than 900 metres above sea level in western Georgia. The opening marks the brand’s entry into a destination known for its natural thermal and mineral springs, which have been valued for their therapeutic properties for over six decades.

The new hotel is designed to cater to travellers looking for a combination of wellness, preventive healthcare and nature-based experiences. Sairme’s thermal waters are traditionally used for treatments related to musculoskeletal conditions, while its naturally carbonated mineral water has long been associated with supporting liver, kidney, urinary tract and digestive health.

Ensana also announced that its second property in the destination, the 5-star Sairme North, is currently undergoing a major renovation. The upgraded hotel will feature expanded wellness facilities, including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a hammam, a salt grotto and modern treatment rooms, further strengthening the region’s wellness tourism offering.

According to Ensana CEO Frank Halmos, Georgia’s abundant natural healing resources, scenic mountain landscapes and rich cultural heritage align with the company’s long-term strategy of developing destinations centred on health and wellness tourism. The company believes Sairme has significant potential to attract both domestic and international travellers seeking restorative experiences.

Sairme Resorts owner Temur Khokhodze said the partnership with Ensana will support continued investment in the destination while helping expand therapeutic services, create employment opportunities and contribute to the development of local communities.

Located around three and a half hours by road from Tbilisi and close to Kutaisi International Airport, Sairme is easily accessible for international visitors. Surrounded by forests and mountains, the destination also offers outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling and paddling, complementing its growing reputation as a wellness retreat.

Founded in 2019, Ensana is one of Europe’s leading health spa hotel operators, with properties across the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria and now Georgia. The company is also preparing to expand into Germany and Italy later this year.
